The Milton Centre for the Arts (MCA) is committed to making sure all patrons have a safe, accessible and entertaining experience, every time.
In September 2013, the Milton Centre for the Arts was the recipient of the Award of Merit for Barrier-Free Design from March of Dimes Canada. Awarded annually, this national recognition was established to promote public awareness of the importance of barrier-free design, and to honour excellence in accessible and universal design. It is presented to the owner or owners of a building or facility that has been designed or renovated with special regard to accessibility for persons with disabilities.
The Milton Centre for the Arts was designed to meet the latest in accessibility standards, which includes:
Facility-wide wheelchair accessibility
Wheelchair and limited mobility seating in the Mattamy Theatre and MinMaxx Hall
Caption services for select performances and lectures to assist persons who are Deaf, deafened and hard of hearing
Accessible signage, surfaces, finishes and acoustics
Accessible Parking: Parking spaces for accessible parking permit holders can be found at the back of the facility and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Access 2 Entertainment: Access 2 Entertainment cards are accepted for support person accompanying a person with a disability. The person with the disability will pay regular admission, while the card-holding support person will receive free admission. Certain restrictions apply; contact the box office for more information.
Booster seats: For the convenience of our younger audience members, booster seats are available at the Coat Check, free of charge and on a first-come, first served-basis.
Caption Services: We are proud to offer caption services for select performances and lectures. Thanks to the generosity of TD Bank Group, these services will assist persons who are Deaf, deafened and hard of hearing to experience the Centre's entertainment.
Service Animals: Service animals are welcome within the facility. Please contact the Chudleigh's Box Office when booking theatre seats to ensure comfortable arrangements can be made for you and your service animal.
Created specifically for the Milton Centre for the Arts, this brand new application for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch provides an accessible live entertainment experience to audience members who are Deaf, deafened and hard of hearing.
Thanks to the generosity of TD Bank Group, this live streaming application will allow for the broadcast of American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation or caption services within the theatre, making every seat in the house accessible.
